Natural Habitats business model in Ecuador and Sierra Leone aims at complete social inclusion and biodiversity enhancement by preserving forest. The group works with small farm holders and only uses organic agriculture practices that prohibit the clearing of primary eco-systems and mitigates some of the effects of climate change.
In most part of the world palm oil production is dominated with water and ground pollution and loss of biodiversity due to green house emission from deforestation. Deforestation in tropical areas accounts for more manmade CO2 emission to the atmosphere than the sum total of cars and trucks on the world’s roads . Preservation of tropical forest is the most important step towards mitigation of dangerous climate change and global warming, which cannot be ignored any more.
Natural Habitats Group is committed to soil carbon sequestration. Our operations affordably capture carbon from the air and store it in the soil for long periods. We are committed to reduce green house gas emissions and fossil fuel use through cover crops and less intensive tillage. No deforestation under any circumstances is the core principle of our business, and therefore we have developed our entire plantation on degraded land and grassland. Conserving forest and appropriate sequestration of carbon can improve the quality of human life. We at Natural Habitats, with the help of our agronomists, control our environmental impact and constantly work towards the betterment of the society, today and for the generations to come.
