This journey takes us to Ecuador , a small country in South America blessed with one of the highest biodiversity in the world. To be more specific we are going to the lovely Quininde Canton in Esmeraldas. In this area, mostly agriculture and cattle activities take place. In particular, this region is considered the first palmicultor corner of Ecuador.
Today, on our first stop, we are going to meet: Fausto Orozco, one of our farmers. He has 33 years of experience as a palm grower and he will tell us more about the process of becoming an organic farmer. Organic farming involves changing and adapting the conventional farming methods to exclude the use of fertilizers and pesticides in favor for organic compost or green manure.
Fausto is talking about his experience in developing Organic Palm. It was not an easy process but it represented a new opportunity, where the farmers can improve their agricultural processes, minimize waste and improve quality of the palm tree by adding their spirit and personality to the mix.
Fausto is an inspiring person and we thank him for the fantastic job he does! To find out more please watch this video .
Our journey will continue! Stay tuned for more exciting stories!
